Large hail, damaging winds and a weak tornado will all be possible from a band of thunderstorms expected late Tuesday afternoon to reach northeast and east-central Kansas, the National Weather Service said. The service Tuesday morning issued severe thunderstorm watches covering 55 counties, with Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan, Salina and Emporia being among the cities involved. "Stay aware of the and be ready to act if warnings are issued," the service's Topeka' office said in a graphic posted on its website.
